Kedarnath is an Indian romantic drama film by Indian director Abhishek Kapoor. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and newcomer artist Sara Ali Khan as the main character.
Kedarnath is a film produced by Ronnie Screwvala from RSVP Movie. Ronnie has previously produced several popular romantic films and television series. Starting from the series Jodhaa Akbar (2008), Chup Chup Ke (2006), and many more.
Kedarnath film has the same concept as Titanic (1997). That is based on a real disaster story with interludes fictional romance drama stories. This film has undergone a process of filming and production since mid 2017, then released on December 7, 2018.
Abhishek Kapoor himself is an actor who changes his profession as a director. Some other films that have been worked on by Abhishek are Rock On !! (2008), a musical film, which has won several awards, as well as Aryan: Unbreakable (2006), and Kai Po Che (2013).
Kedarnath is a love story between Mansoor Khan and Mandakani, who have different beliefs. Mandakani is a Hindu girl with a family who owns a shop near the historic site, Kedarnath Temple on Mount Uttarakhand.
While Mansoor is a humble Muslim man, he works as a porter around the Mandakani residence. They met when Mandakani had to climb Mount Uttarakhand and Mansoor became his guide.
Along the way, feelings of attraction grow among those who eventually develop into love. However, differences in family trust and blessing became an inevitable barrier between them.
Until one day there came a sudden heavy rain which caused a natural disaster, the Uttarkhand Flood. Mansoor and Mandakani also struggled to survive natural disasters and maintain their love.
